In the game 'Darfur is Dying,' the goal of the game is to get a kid or adult to the border. On your conquest to the border you have to avoid the hunters. If your character is captured you are given two paths to take, either to go to the camp and die or to start the game over. Later on you are asked to send a letter to a congressman concerning the issues in Darfur. The game is an educational game with serious subject matter. However, the presentation of the game is given in a way that makes it somewhat humorous, when in fact, the subject is not meant to be taken in anything but a serious way.
The next game that I played was 'Click for Obama.' It is fairly obvious that this game was meant to primarily be a persuasive/advergame right off the bat. The persuasive aspect of the game is to get you to vote for Obama. It also must be an advergame because it's promoting Obama. Also, Obama is constantly put into your mind seeing as it is everywhere on the site and in the game. There are educational parts of it, such as the questions asked, but they are simplistic and should not be missed.
The last video game that I played was called 'Plant Green Game.' The primary objective of this game is to be an education game. This is achieved by informing the player how to conserve energy and how to be more efficient. The goal of the game is to travel Evergreen Town looking for various ways of reducing CO2 emissions and global warming's impact. Whenever a mission was completed, a pop-up would appear giving techniques of reducing waste and conserving energy.
